Dynamic Topic Modeling¶. Dynamic topic modeling (DTM) is a collection of techniques aimed at analyzing the evolution of topics over time. These methods allow you to understand how a topic is represented across different times. For example, in 1995 people may talk differently about environmental awareness than those in 2015.

The result is BERTopic, an algorithm for generating topics using state-of-the-art embeddings. The main topic of this article will not be the use of BERTopic but a tutorial on how to use BERT to create your own topic model. PAPER *: Angelov, D. (2020). Topic modelling is an unsupervised machine learning algorithm for discovering 'topics' in a collection of documents. In this case our collection of documents is actually a collection of tweets. We won't get too much into the details of the algorithms that we are going to look at since they are complex and beyond the scope of this tutorial.
