Even if you are allergic to just one kind of nut, it is safest to avoid all types, because the processing of tree nuts lends itself to cross-contamination. Walnut allergies are caused by an immune reaction to the protein contained in the nut. These allergies can be life-threatening or prompt less severe symptoms.
If a plant has seeds or fruit, it is not necessarily a female, it can also be a mixed gendered plant. Once you become allergic to something as toxic as red cedar or rosewood you have to stay away from it for good. I was getting that way with pine when we made furniture in the 80's, mostly rashes that came on fast. We switched to hardwoods and no more problems. I can do some work with pine now, but not much. Red cedar is a known problem wood.
A day of so later, the insides of my forarms, where they were in contact with the wood, began to itch. It lasted about 10-14 days. The allergic reactions that arise after handling pine needles, products or sap that contain pine include contact dermatitis at any time of the year. Handling pine trees or their products can cause an itchy, reddened rash among sensitive individuals. Blisters or hives might develop and last until after contact with the allergens has ended.
